Traffic congestion.
The project, designed by Sercal and whose promoter has been the Department of Infrastructure, competed until the final variant of Alcoy, in the A-7. The work has served to relieve the traffic between the Boulevard Pla and the Vistahermosa link of the A-70. The award for the environmental integration was for the avenue of Poniente in Benidorm. The project involves the conversion of the north access in the urban road to Alicante in the section covered by the Goteta and the A-7 over a length of over 3.5 km.
The Avenida de Denia had no sidewalks in many places and had two lanes in each direction, separated by a continuous line, with problems of congestion at certain times.

The proposed solution consists in the complete development of that avenue under the Special Plan drawn up by the city of Alicante, with sidewalks running along its length, lighting and planting of three alignments of trees in order to provide the path with the urban image that corresponds to the entry of a large city, solving traffic problems by widening to three lanes in each way in some sections and four in other and the construction of three underpasses to resolve the most contentious points:
Improvements made First on the Road Park, which extends the area covered to meet future traffic problems when fully completed such Road Park. The second in the Gran Via The third cross to the Avenue of Denia, in the Boulevard Pla.
The work was completed with the implementation, replacement and improvement of the sewer system, drinking water and other urban services, with the installation of high quality lighting.
The infrastructure works of Mother Teresa of Calcutta Street are also included , executing earthmoving, paving, drainage, retaining walls, landscaping and drip irrigation, street lighting and road signs. In order not to take very steep slopes, given the steepness of the path elevation existing identifies some major clearing, clearings also require masonry wall coverings, do not neglect the aesthetic integration of the new scenic road with the slope of the Serra Grossa.
The planned investment in the execution of the works is EUR 33,268,810.18 which is to add 16 million euros in the expropriation. Of this amount of expropriations over 1 million euros is provided by the City Council and the rest by the Generalitat Valenciana. |
